Bouncing Souls announce 30th anniversary tour, EP & book, share song
NJ punks The Bouncing Souls are celebrating their 30th anniversary as a band this year, and they’ve got a lot of stuff planned for the ocassion. They’re releasing a new EP, Crucial Moments, on March 15 via Rise Records, and it comes with an accompanying book featuring photos, stories from friends and fans, and more. Singer Greg Attonito says, “We’ve made bonds with people around the world that you’d never imagine or dream of when you’re a 17 year old kid from New Jersey in the ’80s. I’m so grateful that I’ve been through that journey and for what I’ve learned, and what I’ve been able to get for my heart and to give, too. I don’t know how I can imagine my life being more gratifying than that.”
The EP was recorded by the great modern-day punk producer Will Yip, and going by the just-released, super catchy title track, they sound a little more rejuvenated than they did on 2016’s Simplicity. The song comes with a video featuring archival footage of the band on stage, in the studio, in the van, and more, and you can check it out below, along with the artwork and tracklist.
They’ve also announced a very extensive 30th anniversary tour of the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe. The tour includes direct support from punk n’ rollers The Bronx on all North American dates except NJ, and further support comes from The Casualties, Swingin’ Utters, Crazy & the Brains, Skinny Lister, Off With Their Heads and more on select dates.
That NJ show happens March 16 at White Eagle Hall, and this one’s got support from another great punk band, Strike Anywhere. Tickets go on sale Friday (1/25) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
