Though Rick Froberg has been playing his fair share with Hot Snakes as of late, he’s still left plenty of room for Obits. The band recently released a fresh pair of jams on a tour-only 7″ during a Spanish tour. They’ve also curated and posted a a YouTube playlist of “random tunes kicking around in our heads” that you can watch below. And now comes word that the band has announced a pair of shows for us NYCers, the first of which will go down on 1/18 at Rock Shop with Browns & Wrong Dots. Tickets are on sale.
The second Obits date will go down on 1/19 at Cake Shop as part of a benefit for Norton Records. Joining the band will be sets from The Psyched, Flying Teeth, and Entartete. Tickets are on sale. If you can’t make it to the 1/19 show, then you can give directly to help out Norton.
